D&b audiotechnik 18A-SUB—Behind the Grille

The front of the loudspeaker cabinet is protected by a rigid metal grille backed by an acoustically transparent foam. The side panels have an integrated rigging system and the rear panel incorporates two Neutrik NL4 speakON connectors, as well as a two-pole screw terminal block. The loudspeaker cabinets and most accessories are also available with the Special Color (SC) option that can be executed in all RAL* colors, whilst the Weather Resistant (WR) option provides an IP55* rating and enables the operation of loudspeakers in changing ambient conditions.

*RAL is a color-matching system that defines standard colors for varnish, powder coating, and plastics. It’s the most popular Central European color standard used today.

**The IP Code or International Protection Rating, sometimes also interpreted as Ingress Protection Rating. IP55: Protected from limited dust ingress. Protected from low-pressure water jets from any direction.

18A-SUB rigging components

18A-SUB cabinets are connected to form a vertical array each using the Z5418 Connector plates xA-SUB. Up to four 18A-SUB cabinets can be connected. When integrated at the top of a 10A or 10AL array, up to two 18A-SUB cabinets can be combined with up to six 10A/10AL cabinets. Vertical arrays are supported using the Z5414 Flying bar xA and the Z5413 Flying bar connector plates xA.
