TASCAM ML-32D

32-channel Analog/Dante Converter

Description

TASCAM ML-32D

The TASCAM ML-32D is a professional Dante-focused converter made specifically to insert or extract analog audio into or out of a Dante (Digital Audio Network Through Ethernet) network using external breakout devices that utilize Sub-D format connectors.

The ML-32D has four D-Sub inputs and four D-Sub outputs, which can easily be connected to any of the many devices that utilize D-Sub connectors such as microphone preamplifiers, large and small format console mixers, audio interfaces, amplifiers, and euro block connector devices. This simple, yet elegant, solution enables audio to be quickly and easily inserted into – or extracted from – the Dante audio stream.

Now compatible with SMPTE ST 2110-30

Dante module firmware V1.2.0.0 now supports SMPTE ST-2110-30, which will enable a smooth IP transmission of PCM digital audio for structuring broadcast systems.

* Audinate’s provided Dante Domain Manager (DDM) v1.1 or higher is required for the operation of SMPTE ST 2110-30.

SMTPE ST 2110

SMPTE ST-2110 is a video and audio IP network standard defined by SMPTE (Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers). SMPTE ST-2110 is designed to separately embed and transmit video, audio, and ancillary signals, reducing the de-embedding processing load and network load of each device, while also enabling users to de-embed only the packet data they desire for further edit. ST-2110-30 realizes IP transmission of PCM digital audio, enabling high-precision synchronization using PTP (IEEE1588-2008) and low-latency transmission. It is expected to become a network standard protocol in next-generation broadcasting systems.
About Dante
Dante is a transmission protocol developed by Audinate. It enables multi-channel transmission (512ch IN/512ch OUT) and word-clock sync with high accuracy via the network with gigabit Ethernet standard.

ML-32D
Primary and Secondary network connections redundancy and security

Primary and secondary connectors enable the building of a redundant system with a duplex network. Should the primary network route fails the ML-32D automatically switches to the secondary network route. This highly secure system prevents interruption and introduces no noise during the switch.

Flexible routing to connected Dante-compatible devices

The ML-32D uses Dante Controller to configure the main unit and to connect to other Dante-compatible devices. Dante Controller enables flexible routing configuration to other Dante-compatible devices.

About Dante Controller
Dante Controller is a free software application released by Audinate.

Integrated Signal/Overload indicator

The front panel is equipped with a signal/overload indicator that enables the monitoring of analog input/output signals. The signal indicator turns on when a signal level becomes lower than –60dBFs.

ML-32D
5 selectable reference levels which can accommodate a variety of scenes
ML-32D

The TASCAM ML-32D features selectable reference level settings from 5 maximum level options: +24dBu, +22dBu, +20dBu, and +18dBu (the standard level is +4dBu) and +15dBu (the standard level is +6dBu), which can accommodate to a variety of purposes including professional use in broadcasting studios, public address systems and recording environments.

Breakout boxes that enable flexible choice of connectors according to purposes

ML-32D is equipped with D-sub 25-pin connectors as analog line input/output connectors, and combining them with optional breakout boxes enables conversion to Euro Block and XLR.
